Polebrook – All Saints Church
The superb young violinist, Chloe Hanslip, is stepping in at short notice to perform with Ashley Wass in the Music in Quiet Places concert on Friday 22 May, 8pm, at Polebrook Church. She replaces Hideko Udegawa who is indisposed.
Chloe Hanslip at the age of 21 is already an established international artist of distinction.
Her recent recording for Naxos of the John Adams Violin Concerto with the RPO under Leonard Slatkin entered the UK Classical Charts at number 2, and Philip Clark, writing in Gramophone, concluded that "Playing like this should secure Chloë Hanslip's reputation for life". Her two earlier CDs with the London Symphony Orchestra secured her the accolade of 'Young British Classical Performer' at the Classical BRITS 2003.
"Hanslip’s passion and technical bravura are palpable and exciting. Fiery glissandi, tremulous multi-stopping: the fireworks never stop." The Times, Sept 2008
"I am converted - she is likely to become the greatest violinist of her generation." Limelight
“Make no mistake about it: this boy is special. What I love about his
playing is its sincerity and tenderness” The Independent
