Forget what you know about a traditional ‘wind’ quintet, Calefax are a ‘reed’ quintet and totally unique! If you caught them at last year’s Oundle International Festival you’ll know that this promises to be a truly inspiring event.
Recognised internationally for the quality of their ensemble playing and engaging concerts, Calefax have appeared widely throughout Europe, both in new music forums and in early music festivals. Their programme on this occasion includes Bach’s Goldberg Variations, amongst other specially arranged or recomposed pieces from early music to jazz.
