Welcome to Music in Quiet Places
Glorious concerts for summer and autumn evenings
It is always a pleasure
to introduce this series of chamber concerts,
in which we offer an exciting combination
of burgeoning talent and vibrant programming,
set amidst some of the most peaceful
and beautiful villages around; a magical
combination and a fitting advent to Oundle
International Festival in July.
We are grateful as always to the churches
for hosting the concerts and for offering
everyone a warm welcome.
Tickets:
£11 - Adult £9.50 (concessions: senior citizens,
unwaged and registered disabled) £2 - Under 21s
Ticket Promotion:
Take
three (or more!) - buy tickets
to three different concerts at the same
time and save £1.50 per ticket.
Car parking may be found near to the
churches, but could be on unlit streets.
Refreshments will usually be available
during the intervals, provided by members
of the church and with the income going
to church funds.
Toilet facilities are available at Thurning,
Pilton and Kings Cliffe churches.
Remember that pews are often hard – please
do bring a cushion if you wish; all seats
are unreserved.
Disabled concert-goers are welcome at
all our concerts. For assistance with
access or for more information about
the churches please telephone 01780 470297.
Directions to Pilton and Thurning Churches:
Pilton Church: Go down Main Street in
Pilton (by signpost marked 'Pilton Village
only') to T-junction. Turn right, cross
cattle grid and park in field by the
church.
Thurning Church: From the A605 take
the turning to Barnwell and drive through
the village, over the small bridge. On
leaving the village there is a fork to
the right, to Thurning. Take this road,
and upon entering the village of Thurning
turn right and the church will be found
after approximately 200 yards.
Music in Quiet Places is grateful to
Loch Fyne Restaurant, Elton, for their
continuing support of the series in the
form of Gift Vouchers to be awarded as
raffle prizes at some of the concerts.
MIQP reserves the right to make any
changes to the programme that may prove
necessary.
