Pirates of the Baroque
Stolen masterworks and forgotten jewels of the baroque era performed with swashbuckling virtuosity in this hugely popular programme. Recorder player Piers Adams, violinist Julia Bishop, cellist Angela East and harpsichordist Howard Beach, all dressed in buccaneer crimson and black outfits, create music with vivid drama, often at terrific speed and with tremendous skill and
timing. Piers Adams 'the reigning recorder virtuoso in the world today' also acts as presenter, and all four members play entirely from memory, bringing wit, drama and truly dazzling panache to music by Vivaldi, Handel, Albinoni and other baroque masters.
'Jaw dropping - an electrified audience shouted and cheered.' Washington Post
