The Creed Chapel, Ashton (1 mile Oundle)
Tickets £12 (£5 under 21)
Sorry, this concert is now sold out. Robin of Locksley,
Little John, Will Scarlet, Friar Tuck,
the Sheriff of Nottingham, Maid Marian,
Archery, Roaming through the Glen,
Merry Men in Tights... everything you
ever knew - and one or two things you
didn’t - about the most enduring
of English legends and his adventures
is brought together in a riotous and
exciting new show.
King Richard has gone
to fight in the crusades, but while
he is away evil Prince John and the
Sheriff of Nottingham take over the
land and tax the people into desperate
poverty. Enraged by this injustice
one man decides to fight back; his
name is Robin Hood. Gathering his men
in Sherwood Forest, Robin fights and
defeats the Sheriff of Nottingham,
proves himself to be the finest archer
in the kingdom and wins the love of
the fair Maid Marian. But when Prince
John declares himself King, how will
Robin fight an entire army and save
England?
This show is suitable
for everyone aged 5 and over,
and performed by Illyria, the award-winning
theatre company famed for stealing
from richer people’s picnics
to give to the poor. So bring the family,
a picnic and chairs or rugs (no seating
provided), and enjoy this classic English
tale in a classically English rural
setting.
Bar and coffee available
This open-air
performance will be cancelled in
the event of a hurricane only!
