The
Fitzwilliam Museum is one of the finest
museums in the country, containing
magnificent collections of art and
antiquities. A privileged aspect of
this visit will be a welcome by the
Director of the Museum, Duncan Robinson,
who will talk about the Museum’s
treasures and their significance, including
19th century French paintings and work
by the Impressionists. Duncan Robinson,
who is also Master of Magdalene College,
Cambridge, is a renowned authority
in art history, and a genial and gifted
speaker.
Time
will be allowed to visit the teashop
at the Museum.

warm welcome back to this London-based
chamber orchestra, which charmed all
who attended their children’s
concert last year. Their very entertaining
programme will include works by Britten
(Playful Pizzicato and Frolicsome Finale),
Grieg (Prelude to the Holberg Suite)
and, of course, the Theme from the
Pink Panther by Henry Mancini. Lots
of fun and interaction is the order
of the day, and maybe a chance to wield
the conductor’s baton! Suitable
for children of all ages.

Acclaimed jazz singer-pianist Dominic Alldis performs enchanting arrangements
of themes from classic French cinema, including A Man And A Woman, The Umbrellas
of Cherbourg, and Windmills of my Mind, written by Michel Legrand for the film ‘The
Thomas Crown Affair’. Dominic will be joined by three stars from the
London jazz scene as well as the captivating Pavão Quartet. As you will
hear, their music brings together the sophistication of cabaret and the improvisational
excitement of jazz. This is a cabaret concert - the audience will be seated
at tables and a bar is available. No smoking.
